CBD and Melatonin: how do they work?

Melatonin is a hormone produced by our body via the pineal gland and is also known as the sleep hormone, as it plays a crucial role in regulating sleep. In this article, we’ll explore how CBD and melatonin interact to provide a better quality of sleep.

Melatonin production begins especially at the end of the day, when exposure to light stimuli decreases and metabolism slows down. It regulates cortisol levels, which can keep us up late or make us wake up very early, acts as a muscle relaxant, relieves chronic pain, chemotherapy symptoms and seizures in people with epilepsy. It also reduces intraocular pressure and is effective in treating anxiety and depression, among other things. However, it is crucial to consult a doctor before starting any treatment.
