Hemp and the different cultivation methods

Hemp grown indoors, in greenhouses and outdoors.

Hemp has been grown outdoors for thousands of years, making it one of the oldest agricultural crops.

The indoor cultivation of hemp is recent and has evolved a lot in the last 100 years, on a par with indoor cultivation we have greenhouse cultivation. These 2 methods have to control temperatures, light sources, CO2 production and humidity. These well harmonized and controlled elements provide a habitat conducive to the optimum growth of hemp plants, but you have to be very careful of insect pests that can destroy your work.

Growing hemp in a greenhouse pays off the most because the structure is much cheaper, you can play with natural and artificial light and also natural and artificial ventilation. These factors save us a lot of money in hemp production and allow us to plant almost all year round.

Greenhouse hemp is easier to grow than indoor hemp because you can play with both natural and artificial light.

The cost differences between indoor, greenhouse and outdoor hemp production are huge. Indoor hemp is the most expensive, but it is also usually the best quality and the best treated. For us, greenhouse hemp is the best because it’s close in quality to indoor hemp, but at a much more attractive price. And finally we have outdoor hemp, which is much cheaper to produce but sometimes the quality, appearance and taste leave something to be desired. So for HempyRoots, the best option is to produce in a greenhouse.

We hope we’ve answered some of your questions.
